We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.

We do it by funding groundbreaking research, cutting-edge medical equipment and life-changing support.

For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital every day. For children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere. For this generation and all those to come. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to serious illness.

How you’ll make a difference

Are you proactive, able to build rapport/relationships quickly and ready to make a real difference? Would you like to develop your verbal and written communication skills? This is the role for you.

We’d like you to offer your time to help GOSH Charity Mass Participation Events team with preparation for their spring events, including the London Marathon, Walkie Talkie Tower Climb and Facebook Challenges. You could be helping with event preparations and tasks, but also with supporting our TeamGOSH participants, all of which are raising funds to support our work.

What's Involved

We are looking for a volunteer between February 2025 – May 2025, to support us 1 day a week, for approximately 10-12 weeks.

Our team office day is on a Wednesday, and therefore it would be great if a volunteer is able to join us in the office then, however we are happy to discuss a suitable day with the individual.

Where will you be based

Our office is based in central London (Bernard Street, WC1N 1LE), and this will be an office-based volunteer role.

Training and support

Ongoing dedicated support from the Mass Participation Team, including Senior Managers and Senior Executives. You will have one dedicated manager as well as working across the team.
Volunteer Handbook and Volunteering Policy.
Online training on how to keep and store data safely and office health and safety.
Updates how your support is making a difference.

What we are looking for

Able to confidently communicate with supporters, over email, phone and in-person.
Personable attitude and communication skills.
Able to use Microsoft office such as word and excel to do simple tasks such as writing copy and data sorting.
An interest and enthusiasm in learning about events and/or fundraising.
Good time management skills, with the ability to work towards deadlines.
Ability to manage a range of tasks, sometimes simultaneously.
Ability to represent GOSH Charity and our values positively.

Interview Dates: 24th and 26th February 2025.
Approx start date: 5th March 2025
